There are certain moments that remind me of why I founded Lingkotech in the first place—and the launch of Wisatawaelolos.com is definitely one of them.
It’s about how technology and culture can synergize in Wae Lolos Village, West Manggarai. Together with the Cunca Plias Tourism Group (Pokdarwis) and the research team from the eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic, we officially launched the official website for Wae Lolos Tourism Village.
This isn’t just a “regular website.” It’s a digital gateway that opens the way for tourists from around the world to discover why Wae Lolos is nicknamed the Village of a Thousand Waterfalls.
The Story Behind the Website
This launch is part of the BERDIKARI EKOSMIRA (Strengthening the Partnership Ecosystem for the Development of Regional Potential-Based Innovation) program organized by the Directorate General of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemendiktisaintek) through the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP). The theme was “Smart Traditional Tourism Village Innovation to Increase the Competitiveness of Tourist Villages” — and Wae Lolos served as a case study.
Lingkotech and the research team not only developed the website but also compiled a business plan and business model canvas for the Wae Lolos Tourism Village Tourism Group (Pokdarwis). So, the village now has a blueprint for developing tourism digitally and sustainably.
Why This Matters
As Roseven Rudiyanto, Head of the Research Team, said, “Wae Lolos Village has huge tourism market potential.” I couldn’t agree more. The waterfalls, the culture, the friendliness of the people — all of these are authentic experiences that many tourists seek.
And now, with wisatawaelolos.com, all of that uniqueness is just a click away.
Robert Perkasa, Head of the Cunca Plias Tourism Group (Pokdarwis), even said:
“We have used this website for promotions, including at the Bali & Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) 2025. The impact is already being felt in the increase in tourist visits.”
That’s the power of digital: it can reach a wider audience, tell a better story, and invite people to come and experience it firsthand.
Community Pride
Village Head, Gervinus Toni, also expressed his gratitude. According to him, this collaboration is an important step in advancing Wae Lolos.
For me personally, hearing appreciation like this makes the entire process—from coding to late-night debugging—feel incredibly worthwhile. Because from the start, Lingkotech wasn’t just about building a website. It was about building a bridge between the local community and global tourists.
What are the features of wisatawaelolos.com?
We designed a simple website with essential menus:
- What to Do — tourist activities that visitors can engage in.
- What to See — attractions and panoramas that can be enjoyed.
- What to Buy — typical Wae Lolos souvenirs to take home. This website is designed to grow with the village — professional, scalable, and sustainable.
Closing Notes
As the founder, I am proud that Lingkotech can contribute to the development of the Wae Lolos website. This website isn’t the final destination, but the first step toward a bigger dream: professional tourism management, improving the local economy, and ensuring a sustainable future for future generations.
