Reflections on Youth Pledge Day (Hari Sumpah Pemuda)

Published on April 11, 2026

Every October 28th, we commemorate Youth Pledge Day — a historic moment that unites the spirit of Indonesian youth from various regions, languages, and cultures. However, in today’s digital age, the meaning of Youth Pledge is no longer simply about uniting as one nation, but rather about how we unite our spirit and concrete actions to bring Indonesia forward.

In the past, youth united through words and determination. Now, youth unite through work and collaboration. We live in an age where the internet has become a new space to struggle, create, and contribute. Through technology, creativity, and a spirit of collaboration across sectors — academia, government, and industry — the younger generation can create more tangible change.

As a player in the digital field, Lingkotech believes that today’s nationalism is not only about loving the homeland, but also about bringing Indonesia’s identity to the world stage. Whether through digital innovation, sustainable tourism development, or local economic empowerment — all can be tangible forms of love for Indonesia.

The spirit of today’s Youth Pledge also means adapting and collaborating.
We no longer stand alone within the narrow confines of our professions, but complement each other across fields.
Youth in the technology world can collaborate with tourism activists, artists can collaborate with MSMEs, and all work together for a creative and empowered Indonesia.

Today’s Youth Pledge is no longer just a promise, but a commitment to action.
Dare to dream big, dare to take small steps, and consistently bring about change through the simple things we can do.

Because, truly, the spirit of youth isn’t just a thing of 1928.
It lives in every innovation, every collaboration, and every small step toward a better Indonesia.
